It sounds like a belt is moving or something it doesn't sound like it normally would turning over. Its like weeer weeer sound.. what would be wrong? Timing belt? Would the car start if the timing was off??? If your water pump is driven by the timing belt which is the case on many cars today then if not done correctly the vehicle may not start. The 'weeer weeer' sound you describe sounds like it does not have compression which could certainly happen if the valve timing is off. On some engines the valves can be bent if they hit the pistons due to an incorrect timing procedure. Sounds like you may need to take it somewhere more familiar with this type of procedure. i think your right depending on your car of course it will not start if the timing belt is not in place Call your car dealer and ask them if you have an "interference" engine that can suffer major damage if the timing belt breaks. If the engine seemed to crank faster than normal (no cylinder compression), that's a good sign the timing belt slipped or broke. the car will start even if thye timing is off...but it will lose its power because the piston position n the valve position is not same like bfore....maybe when they change the water pump,they had forget to plug some wire or sensor and check the timing belt also n see if its in good condition...hope this help u Auto parts : Air Tank Acura 1995 . We just got a 03 Altima from the dealership in March. The check engine light came on and we brought it in and they told us it was a misfire on clylinder 3 so they switched it with 1 and told us to drive to see if the light tripped again. ^ not sure what any of this means.. but we drove. Couple days later, it tripped so we brought it back to them. Now they're saying it looks like it's leaking coolant and they need to replace the head.. The warranty will cover it if that's whats wrong. BUT if the head is damaged the warranty will not.. How will a car drive if it has head damage? The car was driving fine, didn't even notice anything was wrong with it besides when you tried to start it, it would studder some. We won't know till Monday what's going on and I'm really worried about this.. We haven't even had the car 3 months and something is wrong with it. Thanks. car insurance. But one thing is true: If you have a high performance engine and need to get more fuel to your motor, you will want to replace a mechanical fuel pump with an electrical fuel pump. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Screwdriver set Socket set Open end box wrench set Fuel line disconnect toolDirections Step by Step : 1 Unhook the battery by disconnecting the positive and negative terminal wires. 2 Remove the old mechanical fuel pump by unhooking and removing the gas filter tube with a Phillips screwdriver. 3 Use a socket set to undo the bolts that hold in the gas tank. This will allow you to drop the gas tank down. 4 Drop down the gas tank and unhook the fuel lines from the tank with a fuel line disconnect tool. 5 If there are bolts holding the electrical system and fuel lines in, remove them with the socket set. 6 Use a flathead screwdriver to unhook the wires at the top of the gas tank, near the fuel lines, and remove the gas tank from the vehicle entirely. 7 Remove the sending unit from the gas tank. There will also be a metal ring on the sending unit. Remove the metal ring by working it off using a flathead screwdriver and a hammer. 8 Remove the mechanical fuel pump. 9 Install the electrical fuel pump near to where the mechanical fuel pump came out and mount it securely. Step by Step : 10 Run your inlet hose into the electrical fuel pump and wire it according to the instructions that came with it. Different electrical fuel pumps will have specific directions for that type of pump. Tips & Warnings Hook your fuel pump up to an ignition hot; this means that the fuel pump will only come on when you turn the key on. This process will expose you to a lot of gas. Work through the door access panel. 3 Unplug the fuel sender connector by pressing the lock tab and pull the connector off its harness. 4 Unscrew the lockring holding the fuel pump/sending unit assembly onto the tank using a spanner wrench. Turn the lockring counterclockwise until the ring is released. 5 Lift the fuel pump/sending unit assembly off the fuel tank being careful not to damage the sender unit extension arm. 6 Remove the fuel pump from the assembly. Install the New Fuel Pump Step by Step : 1 Mount the new fuel pump on the pump/sending unit assembly. 2 Set the pump/sending unit assembly in the tank with the sender unit extension arm pointing towards the rear of the fuel tank. If provided, make sure any arrows or marks on the pump/sending unit assembly flange align with the arrow or marks on the fuel tank mounting base. 3 Lock the pump/sending unit assembly in place by turning the lockring clockwise using the spanner wrench. 4 Plug the fuel sender connector. 5 Connect the fuel supply, return and vapor lines. 6 Replace the access panel door. 7 Install the rear seat cushion. 8 Connect the black, negative battery cable. Tips & Warnings If you do not have access to a spanner wrench, you may rent one from an auto parts store.
